The Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Abbott, said that the latest statistics showed that during July 60 persons who applied for the admission of relatives had net assets totalling £14?,000. A Jugo Slav laborer who has been 16 years in Australia had saver] £IOOO, while a Russian confectioner, after 2f> years has £20,000. ? A Polish financier has amassed £30,000 after 26 years. A Russian, aged 40, who has £ISOO after two years, is being granted permission to bring out his wife. / On the,other hand, the Home Affairs Department frowns on the romance of a young Syrian girl, who has a little green grocery store, and wants to 'bring out her fiance. Nor will a native of Palestine be permitjrd to bring out his brother.
