WEDDING

BROOKER—STUART The wedding was solomriised of Violet, second daughter of Mr and Mrs It. J. Stuart, of Cunninghams, and Harry, second son of the late SirHenry Brookor, Erith, Kent, England, by the Rev. Mayo, in St. John’s Church, Feilding, April 26. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a deep cream satin gown trimmed with shell pink georgette and lillies of the valley, with court train of satin lined with pale nink. The veil and orange blossoms were held in place by a rope of pearls, and the bride carried a horse-shoe bouquet of pale pink roses and lillies of tlio valley with pink and * cream ribbon streamers. Tho bride was attended by Miss Lydia Barrow and Miss Muriel Healey, who were attired in cream satin and georgette with handpainted sashes, cream veils and bouquets of cream and pink dahlias. Miss Beth Rutherford acted as flower girl, and wore pale blue ninon with trimmings of pink rose buds and mob cap, and carried a basket of pink flowers. Bridesmaids wore brooches, presents from tho bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Norman Short as best man, and Mr Dick Stuart acted as groomsman. , , Tho bride’s mother wore a saxe blue costume and black hat, and carried a bouquet of Michaelmas daisies and autumn leaves. ~ After the service the reception was held at the Carlton Tearooms. Speeches were riiany and various, Mr W. Carthew proposing the toast ot the bride and bridegroom, which was suitably responded to. Telegrams and cables of congratulation were received, also numerous presents and cheques. rt „ The happy couple left Mr G. B. Healey’s place by car for Rotorua, whore the honeymoon was spent.
