ROBBERS HOLD UP TRAIN. (By Electric Cable—Copyright.) (Aust. and *1.55. Cable Association.) New York. May 15. The Golden State, Limited, tho crack passenger train from Chicago to Los Angeles, was stopped at Tuscan by eight robbers who placed torpedoes on tho track, cutting the train in two. Taking the mail-car five miles along tho line, the robbers prepared to dynamite the safe. Harold Stewart, an express messenger, opened firo with a heavy rifle, killing ono bandit and injuring two others, and the rest took to flight. A posse ot one hundred .cowboys is pursuing them towards tlie Mexican border.
