GERMAN ELECTIONS.
MAJORITY SOCIALISES LEADING (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Aust.-N.Z. Cable Association.) Berlin, June 7. The first provisional result of the elections show that in North Berlin the Majority Socialists polled 19,000 votes; Independent Socialists, 36,000; Central Party, 3000; People's Party, 11,000;. National Party, 10,000; CommunisteylOOO. In Halle, the Majority Party polled 10,000, Independents 34, - 000, 'Democrats 13,000. In Frankfort the Majority Party polled 21 .OK), Independents 13,000. The Majority Party is also leading in Offenbach and Nurenberg. .
1 A VERY MIXED RESULT. s (keceived June 8, 9 a.m.) Berlin-,June 7. The German elections passed_ without incident, with the exception of some disturbances at Essen. The polling has been heavy, it being estimated that' at least 80 per cent of the electors voted. It is believed that the People's Party and the Independent Socialists have made good progress in Berlin and the country districts, and that the. Democrats and the Plural Socialists; have lost ground. The election figures to date (says :v Reuters message) are: Socialists, 34 seats; Independents, 24;.
