London, May 5. A wireless German official message says: A fresh English attempt to break through between Achievillo and Queant with the 16t<h and 17th Divisions failed after repeated attacks. The battle extended from dawn until night, when the eneniv broke down. Several French divisions unsuccessfully attempted to take the heights northward of Prosnes. A battle is in progress on the heights north of the Aisne. The- Russians unsuccessfully attacked northwards of Susita Valley. French attacks between Berry au Bac and Fremont were repulsed. An English attack on both sides of Bullecourt was rertulsed. Our English prisoners have increased to 1235. Excessive artillery fighting on the Aisne front continues. Fighting for the possession of Winterburg has not concluded.
