HAWKE'S BAY STOCK SALES.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.. report having hold their fortnightly sale of stock nt Stortford Lodge, Hastings, on Tuesday, when they offered a few pens of cattle and a large entry of sheep to a moderate attendance of those interested. Beef, owing to short supply, took a sharp rise, and mutton was also eagerly competed for. Store sheep, particularly lambs, met with an in and out reception. The following prices were realised : — 8 fat bullocks from Te Mahanga £8 6s, 8 fat bullocks £7 18s/ 5 fat cows from £4 to £4 15s, 10 three-year-old bullocks £5, 6 18-month steers £2 Is ; 100 fat ewes from 12s to 12s 9d, 110 fat ewes 12s 7d, 60 fat ewes 12s 3d, 100 fat ewes from 11s 3d to 12s sd, 30 shorn lambs 8s lOd, 350 six and eight-tooth ewes (a good Hue) 12s 7d to 13s Id, 300 two-tooth wethers 10s lid. 100 two-tooth wethera 10s, 150 two-tooth ewes (small) Bs, 900 full-, mouth ewes from 3s Id to 8s 9d, 500 cull lambs from Is 9d to 2s 7d, 10 weaner pigs 9s 6fl'.
