Mr F. Pownall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers' Co-Op. Association, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks free, unless specie bats.— Stackings generally are complete, with southern growers determined to weather winter betoro threshing, causing a shortness m supply- Ruling values restrict outside competition, and can go higher, B grade Danish and Gartons costing 2s 5Jd, sparrowbills 2s 6d, Duns 2s Wheat.— Millers are stocking quietly, preparing for flour fluctuations, which must rise in sympathy with wheat, present landed cost of Australian temporarily restricting. Tuscan and Velvet find ready outlet at 4s Bd. Fowl feed similar. Potatoes. — Consumption brisk; whites £5 15s, but keepers £5 17s 6d ; outlook downward; heavy supplies available. Maizo has small business at 4s /d. Barley. — Malting lively at 5s 3d, Cape scarce 3s 9d, feed dull 4s. Peas. — Partridge active at 4s 6d, whites 6s, split £15 10s. Bran. — In better request at £5 ss. Pollard. — Orders continue unfilled at £6 10s; mills short. Oatmeal. — 25s list at £13, small rise anticipated; rolled oats £13; oatina 10s 6d. Chaff. — North, with bare crops, ask 100s s.e., southern momentarily easier at 92s 6d s.i., but with first cuts off hand, value will harden considerably. Straw chaff 42s 6d s.e. Grass Seed — Sowing is in fuJl swing, heavy M.D. rye firm at 6s, Cocksfoot B£d, imp. W. Clover 90s, cowgrass 105s, rape 355.
