♦ [per press association.] Palmerston North, Thursday. , Through finding the manholes in connection with the recentlyrconstructed 18in. sewers full of water, the Borough authorities wore led to the discovery that the pipes for some • distance were all fractured. The wer was opened* up to-day and the pipes were found to be practically all to pieoes. The extent of the damage has not yet: been ascertained. The sewers will be lifted until -fell the • faulty pipes have been replaced. No satisfactory reason has yet been ad* vanoed for the collapse. • , -
