Smyth, surveyor, was found dead in bed this morning in the residence of some friends on the Christchurch Road. . Death was due to natural causes. Government tourist agents from Canterbury and Auckland are now visiting the West Coast to make themselves familiar with the local routes to beauty spots and for the purpose of visiting the Southern glacier^ ' It is expected there will be a large influx of visitors to the district during next season and in the exhibition period, and the idea is to have agencies well equipped with the fullest local knowledge of a locality so highly praised for its scenery wonders. The agents, are already greatly impressed with the attractions of the Lakes visited,
