Laery and Co. report at Wellington : — Wheat — Keports from the South still point to the fact that supplies are materially short of requirements, and the late advance in values has been well maintained. Prime milling, 3s 9d to 4s f.0.b. ; medium to good, 3s 4d to 3s Bd. Whole fowl wheat is very scarce and best lines are realising 3a to 3s 6d, ex stores. . Oats — Stocks available in the South for immediate shipment are much lighter than usual, and holders have advanced their quotations. Prime short oats. Is 8d to Is 9d ; Danisu, Is 7d ; duns, Is 103. Cocksfoot — Prime bright machinedressed, 4£d: bright beayy undressed, 3sd to 4d ; good 3£d ; rough undressed, 24 d to 3d per lb. Ryegrass— Kothing doing. Prime heavy machine- dressed, 4s 3d . good heavy undressed, 3s 6d to 3s 7d ; farmers' lots, 2s 9d to '6s. Sheepskins— All lots reaching us meet with ready sale at our quotations. Country crossbred, medium to fine quality, BAd to 4}d ; half-woolled, 3d per lb. Hides — Values during the week have undergone a sharp advance. Good plump heavy ox hides, 16s to 20s ; good, 12s to 16s ; cow hides, 6s to 10s 6d. Potatoes — Choice Oamaru Derwents, 45s to 47s 6d ; Canterbury, 45s ; Blenheim and Kaikou^a, 35s to 42s 6d per Jb. Eggs — Supplies during the week have still further increased and values have suffered a further fall. Best fresh, Is 6cl ; limed, Is per doz.
