Haweba, May 31. The Egmont Farmers' Union report as follows .'—At Stratford on the 23rd inst we held our usual fortnightly sale. We quote — Fat cows, £'6 10s to £4 7s : dairy cows and heifers, .£3 10s to £± Is ; store cows, £2 us to £2 15s ; 18-montlis to 2-years steers, £1 15s to £2 ss. Sheep — Ewes in lamb, 4s 3d. We held a satisfactory sale of dairy stock &c, on Mr E. C. Barleyman's farm near Cardiff, Stratford, on Monday, the 27th mst. The cows were a good line, and prices ranged from £3 12s 6d to £5 17s 6d. The sundries also sold well. Our Hawera sale was held in the Glover Road yards on the 29th inst. We quote : — Fat bullocks, none sold ; 2to 2i-year old steers, £3 to £3 2s 6d ; fat cows, £4 to £A 4s ; heifers in calf, £3 5s to £3 12s 6d ; 18-months to 2-year heifers, £2 2s 6d to £2 10s ; store cows, £2 to £2 10s. Sheep— Fat hoggets, 6s 6d ; hoggets, 3s 7s.
