GUILD PRESIDENT HONOURED PLEASANT SOCIAL AFTERNOON A very pleasant social afternoon was held on Wednesday by members of the Papakura Methodist Ladies’ Guild in the Sunday school hall, to do honour to their president. Mrs Perry-Taylor. Mrs I. M. Raynor presided over a large attendance, many visitors being present from the Manurewa Methodist Guild. Remuera, Drury and Auckland. Mrs Raynor paid a glowing tribute to the splendid work accomplished in the church by their guest as president of the guild. “She is held in the highest respect by everyone,” said Mrs Raynor. in asking her to accept the members’ love and esteem. Mrs W. T. Cox. president of the Manurewa Methodist Guild, wished Mrs Taylor every happiness for the future. Mrs R. East also spoke on behalf of the Papakura members. Mrs Raynor asked Mrs Taylor to accept from the guild a reading lamp and jardiniere and with them their best wishes. Mrs E. C. Johnson, the oldest member. handed Mrs Taylor a beautiful bouquet of asters, dahlias and delphiniums. Airs Taylor suitably replied.
