Aquatic Sports at Municipal Baths
SWIMMING CLUB CARNIVAL TUESDAY’S ATTRACTION ENTHUSIASTIC COMPETITORS The young people of Pukekohe have acquired an enthusiasm for competitive swimming, evidence of this being the large number who attend the municipal baths for the Swimming Club’s weekly carnivals.
Throughout the season . the youngsters have been most enthusiastic and although the season is' on the wane enthusiasm is not being - dampened. On Tuesday evening keenness was the outstanding feature, and the result was a most successful fixture. Results are:— Tiny tots. —Boys: D. Ryan 1, A. Watkin 2, W. Estall 3. Beginners, under 12. —Girls: C. Gee I, L. Short 2, B. Booth 3. Boys: A. McDowall 1, D. Ryan 2. Learners, 25 yards.—Boys: First heat: A. Holt 1, D. Ryan 2, A. Watkins 3; time, 23 secs. Second heat: N. Robertson 1, C. Burnett 2; time, 22 secs. Final: N. Robertson 1, C. Burnett and A. Holt (dead heat) 2; time, 24 2-5 secs. Girls: First heat, B Adams 1, L. Short 2, B. Booth 3; time, 26 2-5 secs. Second heat: C. Gee 1, J. Fellow 2; time, 21 1-5 secs. Final: B. Adams 1, J. Fellow 2, L. Short 3; time, 25 secs. C. Gee finished first but was disqualified for leaving - the boards before her time. 50 yards, 14 and under.—Girls: E. Moore 1, G. Cronin 2, J. Cronin 3; time, 44 3-5 secs. Boys: First heat, J. Smith 1, L. Sharp 2, P. Field 3; time, 48 secs. Second heat: D. Burnett 1, B. Hinton 2, A. Ccmrie 3; time 40 3-5 secs. Final: L. Sharp 1, D. Burnett 2, B. Hinton 3; time, 43 secs.

Under water swim.—N. Bagnall T, A. Comrie 2, D. Burnett 3. The winner swam the length of the bath.
