LACK OF RAIN
FARMERS PERTURBED HERDS DRYING OFF PRODUCTION IS UOW Farmers throughout Franklin are becoming increasingly perturbed at the lack of rain. Farmers in some oases are reported to he drying off their herds through lack of feed. The housewife, too, is suffering in the rural districts and in many homes water has to be carried. At Tualiau and Mercer, where there is no reticulated supply, most of the tanks are now either empty, or very ; low.
