OBITUARY.
MRS MARGARET PARKER. A BOMBAY PIONEER. Another link with the early days was broken by the, recent death of Mrs Margaret Parker. Born in Scotland she came to the Dominion with her parents, the late Mr and Mrs Sturgeon, in the ship Bombay, arriving on March 18, 1865, after an eventful voyage. She lived all her life in the Bombay and surrounding districts, and retained all her faculties till the lasi. She had vivid memories of the pioneer days in that district. Mrs Parker was predeceased by her husband, Mr John Henry Parker, by nearly 15 years. She is survived by three sons—Messrs J. B Parker of Pokeno, 11. A. and W. G. Parker of Happy Valley—and six daughters—Mesdames F. 11. Brownhill, Whitford; J. Findlay, Pukekohe; J Luke, Clevedon; W Sturgeon, Paparala; J. Gleeson, Bombay; and It. Payne, Topuni. There are 48 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren — in all 82 descendants.
