PERSONAL.
Mr Ron Watson, the driver of the Farmers' van which crashed into a train at Takanini last Thursday afternoon, is making a satisfactory recovery in Linton private hospital.
Mr S. Martin, of Wellington and Mr W. Lee Martin, ex-M.P. for Raglan, were visitors to P'apakura on Sunday, attending their late mother's memorial service at the Methodist morning service.
Mr and Mrs H. E. Cross, of Cairo, who have been visiting Papakura for the last fortnight, left.on their return home last week via Sydney. Mr Cross is a brother of Dr. P. Gross, of Papakura.
Mr W. Kidd, who was seriously injured last Thursday in a level crossing accident at Takanini, was reported on Sunday afternoon to have regained consciousness, and was able to recognise his father for the first time since the accident.
Mr S. A. Browne, the well-known orchardist of Clevedon, was taken seriously ill on Monday and has been
admitted to the Auckland hospital. Mr Browne has not enjoyed the best of health for the last couple of years and has been under medical care.
