The estimate as submited to the Loans Board for this area is just reached to obtain installations on the Walker and no more. It will be necessary Trust Property and Muirs in order to Monday next and it is hoped tha* rekawa canvass is being continued on actuolly reach estimates. The Pukesults will prove as well in this district. Hunua, Happy Valley, Ararimu and Paparata canvass is now complete and details are being worked out. General: I have been in communication with Mr Patterson, instructor in Agriculture, since the meeting here on March 8, and owing to pressure of business he will be unable to spend the three days in this district until after the Easter holidays. With regard to the unofficial use of the Board's cars, as instructed I have investigated same and find that a car was used one holiday to Waikato Heads. I do not think it necesary to make an example of the official on this occasion. I have placed a warning on the notice board at the Depot in ths connection.

With regard to Districts which have been left incomplete on account of non-payable revenue being offered I have now to report that the following may be gone on with subject to financial assistance being granted in every case required: (1) Razorback, (2) Soldiers Settlement, Puni. With regard to Brown's Road. Tuakau, same Is £3B short of the required amount and Tramway Road £lO short of the amount but it is possible that the latter may be made up by the inclu-

sion of an aditional consumer who intends to notify us definitely in a fortnight.

On the suggestion of Mr W. L. West, it was decided to inspect all properties offered for irrigation experimental purposes, with the agricultural Department's instructor, and later to write the property owners concerned to meet the board and discuss the question.

The question of arranging a meeting of settlers at Hunua, with a view of extending the power lines to this area was left to the chairman, (Mr J. Dean), Mr J. B. McKinney and the engineer.

In reply to a question the engineer said there was ltttle prospect or the settlers in Happy. Valley, linking up with the scheme. If a meeting were held and the position outlined it might help matters considerably, but up to the present the district was a complete wash out as far as electrical reticulation was concerned.

The engineers recommended that that the work on the Razorback loop be put in hand at the first opportunity. Consideration of the proposal to reticulate the Soldiers' , Settlement at Puni. was deferred pending a satisfactory reply from the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The question of a further canvass of Brown's road. Tuakau, was referred to Mr G. Arrowsmith and the engirfeer, while the matter of constructing a line past Mr E. Gillon's property on Tramway road, Puni. was loft, to the engineer. The report was adopted.
