DEATH OF rams. J. P. ©LARK.
HIGHLY ESTEEMED RESIDENT
In connection with the unexpected death of Mrs Clarke, wife of Mr J. P. Clark, of Waiau Pa, at the early age of 29 years at Shirley Private, Hospital, Pukekohe, our Waiau Pa correspondent states: The late Mrs Clark was the eldest daughter of .Mr and Mrs .Tas. Given, of Glenburn, Pollok Settlement. After being educated at the Pollok School, deceased completed her education at the Ladies’. College, Remuera. Since childhood Mrs Clark had devoted herself to church work and had occupied the position of organist in Pollok Church for over 12 years. In 1921 she married Mr J. P. Clark, of Waiau Pa. and almost since that time had acted as organist in the Presbyterian Church at Waiau, and had taken an active interest in all matters connected with the Christian uplift. She was widely known for her geniality, and her loveable and ( gracious disposition endeared her to ; all. The funeral service, which was j largely attended by residents of surrounding districts, and also from Whangarei, Auckland. Hamilton, and Raglan, was conducted by the Rev. H. 0. Stuart, of Tuakau. who gave a most impressive address, both in Waiau Pa church and at the graveside. The deceased leaves her sorrowing husband and infant daughter, parents, two sisters and two brothers, many relations and a large circle of friends, to mourn their loss. Memorial services were held in the Pollok and M/aiau Churches bv their respective ministers, both upholding the high esteem in which the late Mrs Clark was held. Though she is no longer present with us her influence and many good works will long remain in the memory of all those who were privileged to know her.
