Cameron, returned yesterday from a'holiday visit to Queenstown. . • enthronement of the Bishopelect of Wellington, the Rev. R. H. Owen, will take place at the Cathedral Church of Saint Paul on Sunday, March 9. The Primate. Archbishop West-Watson, will preside, and it is expected that all the bishops of til® province will be present. The Bishopelect is expected to arrive at Wellington on March 2. Mr W. G. de Gruchy, a director of Port Line Ltd., who returned to England recently after representing ths company in Australia and New Zealand for the last 20 years, has now retired. He will retain his seat on the board of directors. ; Mr T. S. Townsend, of. Auckland, . general manager of Kerridge Theatres, has been visiting Dunedin in the course of a tour of inspection of the theatres in his circuit in the South Island. Mr Townsend left to-day for Oamaru. Dr Allan G. B. Fisher, who was professor of economics at the University of Otago from 1924 to 1935, and who has occupied the chair of international * economics at the (Royal Institute of , International Affaire, Chatham House, London, since 1937, has been apV . pointed .to the Interriatiorial Monetary Fund at Washington. Dr Fisher was . born in Christchurch in 1895, and edu: cated in Melbourne and London.' HeV is the author of several books / on economics and numerous pamphlets, and has been a regular contributor to journals of international standing. Mrs Fisher, who was formerly Miss Airini Pope, of the Home Science School, Dunedin,, is now residing with her husband in Washington.
