WARNING TO TRAVELLERS
DELAY IN RETURN FROM BRITAIN WELLINGTON, January 8. A warning has been issued by Mr W. J. Jordan, High Commissioner in the United Kingdom, to intending; travellers from New Zealand to the United Kingdom. Mr Jordan, in a message to the Government released to-day, refers to a report that shipping companies are at present being rushed by intending passengers from New Zealand to Britain, and states that it must be understood by any holidaymakers or other people whose visit to Britain is not essential that they will have to wait a year or longer for a return passage. . “ This waiting time in Great Britain • is not likely to be shortened,” said Mr Jordan, “ notwithstanding all excuses that may be produced or whatever influence may be brought to bear. Already there.is a waiting list of some thousands of people in Great Britain, and New Zealand House in London cannot secure any priority in transport for ordinary passengers.” V,
