PARCELS DELAYED

J-FORCE COMPLAINTS AUSTRALIAN WHARFIES BLAMED In reply to complaints from members of J-Force that parcels posted three months ago have not yet arrived, the Postmaster-General, the Hon. F. Jones, to-day stated that any delay may have been the result of waterfront strikes in Australia. Parcel mails for J-Force are despatched via Australia when no direct boat is available from New Zealand. A direct parcel mail for the J-Force was despatched by the Chitral from Wellington on July 29.' This mail should have arrived two or three weeks from the date of despatch. The last despatch was from Auckland via Australia, where the mail would be transhipped, on September 16. This mail would take two to two and a-half months to arrive The next despatch will be by the Nellore, from Wellington, on approximately November 28, and will close in Dunedin on November 27. The Nellore was due to sail from Wellington on October 28, but, due to shipping trouble in Australia, has been delayed.
