AMERICAN SHIPPING STRIKE SEAMEN DEMAND FULL WAGE INCREASE NEW YORK. Sept. 9. Mr Harry Lundeborg, head of the Sailors’ Union of the Pacific, announced after four unavailing conferences with the Assistant Secretary of Labour, Mr Philip Hannah, that the maritime strike will continue until the seamen have collected the full wage increase gained through collective' bargaining. Due to lack of newsprint deliveries as a result of the strike, the ‘ New York Times,’ ' Herald-Tribune,’ and ‘ Daily Mirror ’ omitted display advertisements from this* morning’s issues The tabloid, the ‘ Daily News,’ was the only newspaper carrying advertisements, All papers were reduced in size, the “• Times ’ and * Herald-Tribune ’ being on. only 20 pages instead of the usual 40.
