STILL A POSSIBILITY OF ATTENDING
(Bee. 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 9. The Colonial Secretary, Mr George Hall, - to-day received Dr Hertzog, chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, who has requested an opportunity to discuss the Palestine situation, also to present Mr Leonard Stein, president of the AngloJewish Association. The Press Association says there is still no indication that any Jewish representative will attend the conference opening to-mor-row. It is expected that the business of the first session will be a welcome from Mr C. R. Attlee to Arab delegates, and their reply. Mr Nahum Goldman to-night said: “It is possible, if the Government will accept certain formulae we are offering, that the Jewish organisations will be able to join in the conference before it ends.”
