MAORIS AND THE AFRICAN TOUR
POSSIBLE EXCLUSION RESENTED (P.A.) HASTINGS, Sept. 10. A strong protest against the possible exclusion of Maori players in the New Zealand Rugby team to visit South Africa was made at a meeting of the executive of the Hastings Rugby Football Sub-union last evening, when the following resolution was passed:— “ That this sub-union views with alarm the suggestion that a New Zealand representative team should be sent to South Africa without the inclusion of Maori players, and is of opinion that future tours of South' Africa should be abandoned if the inclusion of eligible Maori players is debarred.”
