GOVERNMENT STATEMENT
NO ROYALIST UPRISING (Rec. 8 a.m.) ATHENS, Jan. 22. M. Sofoulis said that reports of a number having been killed at Sparta and Kalamata were unfounded, only four being wounded at Kalamata and complete order prevailing at Sparta, wheie no clashes occurred. The Government denied having issued a statement attributing the uprising as a plot to restore the king and soverthrow the present regime.
