EXECUTIVE'S MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of tie executive of the Automobile Association (Otago) was held last night. The president (Mr H. S. Eeid) was chairman, and alsi present were Messrs J. L. Passmore, G. W. Ferens, W. J. Mclnnes, G. T. Thorn, G. 1 Anderson. J. 0. Souness, T. Y. Turner, G.IG. Adess. W. L. Coxhead. J. Robertson. \ and P. W. Breen. The executive agreed not to support a suggestion by the South Islanc Motor Union to hold a quarterly meeting ii June unless the quantity of business wai sufficient to warrant the attendance of delegates from the various associations. REINSTATEMENT OF CYCLE TRACK. In the interests of motorists! and because of the heavy volume of bicycb traffic along this route, the executive agrepd to support a motion by Mr Thorn asking the City Council to reinstate the cycle! track on the Cuberland street-Anderson's lay road section as far as Cargill road, so; as to remove the danger to cyclists who lad to use a rough road surface when a gcbd track was available and was not being ised by pedestrians. It was pointed out tiat the trackcould be used as far as the council's testinjt station without interfering wih pedestriaD traffic. i MEMBERSHIP.! The committee decided to plice the following remit before the next ireeting of the executive of the union:—" Tiat the affiliation of any association with the S.I.M.U. be cancelled if the sum actually received by way of annual subscripion from anv member, after allowance of any rebate or deduction by the associatior, is less than £l." j There were 41 new raembffs elected, and 19 resignations noted, majing the total membership of the association 5,357, including 440 members overseas aid 373 militarv members. i Comment was made on tie membership and Mr Breen, advocating a drive for more members, moved the appdntment of another service officer principally for_that purpose.
