HOME GUARD TRANSFER
INCLUSION IN LAND FORGES (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. The reorganisation of the Home Guard and the transfer of its administration to the Defence Department was raised when the House met to-day by Mr Broadfoot in an urgent question to the Prime Minister, Air Fraser, .who said the transfer of the Horae Guard administration was contingent on a good deal of work in connection with reorganising the Dominion’s laud forces. The Home Guard’s reorganisation was proceeding as fast as possible, and the inclusion of this organisation in the defence plans of the Dominion was wrapped up in the general reorganisation of the land forces, which was the subject of a special report by Lieutenant-general Sir Guy Williams, -which was now under consideration. In the meantime the necessary preliminary work was in hand to implement any decision made by the Government, and instructions would he issued as soon as a decision -was made.
