OBITUARY
MR A. J. HASTE The death has occurred at Waipukurau of Mr Alexander James Hastie,who was at one time a well-known, resident of Dunedin. ■ Mr Hastie was for many years a member of the Otago Hussars, and was one of the first men to volunteer for service in the South African War. He left New Zealand with the Ist Contingent, on October 21, 1899. He was predeceased by his wife, who was the eldest daughter of Mr James Brown, Cargill street.
