WAR AND PROPHECY.
TO THE EDITOU. Sir, —Mr Knight forgets that Judah had to walk to the house of the Saacsons, and together they should come out of the land of the north to Palestine; this they did. As soon as Britain got the mandate, she allowed Jews to make their national home in Palestine. Perhaps Mr Knight thinks they should get the lot, turn the Arabs out, make their own laws, etc.; no, never; only one-twelfth part belongs to Judah. I have in my letters often deplored the fact that the Jews escaping from Continental persecution, and hieing to Palestine in unbelief of Jehovah (God, manifest in the flesh, the Christ), thus refusing the Divine protection, will fall into even worse woes, for their new half of the city will be taken, etc. Mr Knight is- one of those good people whom Jesus could see saying: “My Lord delayeth His coming.” This is a free country, and my friend can think as he likes, but the day of news controversy is not now. For my own part I believe Armageddon is at hand, and have many reasoned arguments for so saying, which I was ready to impart publicly to others that they
might bo saved extreme terror of the things to happen on earth, and know that it is not the end of the world, but God’s judgment of the nations, and midnight of the Bridegroom’s return, who alone can make wars to cease, Who alone can chain Satan, so that right living for men can obtain on this earth. The new age indeed, which everybody to-day is blindly groping round for, but cannot see the truth. An “ open ” letter obtained for me only 11 replies from all over Otago, so I presume tho public is too busy writing bags full of letters to say they want more intriguing love stories over the radio on Sunday evenings; and care little about doing their bit to hasten the end of tho war. (They could if they would.) —I am, etc., G. Steel. Juno 8.
