TO THE EDITOR. g; r! —Every man and woman in New Zealand ’should read the article by Dr E. M. Elder, published in the ‘ Evening Star onJune 6. It is a real eye-opener for all who expect to get real benefit from the medical scheme. It is restrained, and every statement can be verified. The harm that would be done if it were carried out would be impossible to estimate. As for getting attention for nothing; it would be infinitely more expensive, as there are so many " catches ” in the scheme. If anyone, after reading the article referred to, cannot sea the danger of joining up in this scheme, then it would pay him to consult the best oculist in New Zealand. We should not put our heads in a noose from which we could never escape. Every statement in the article could be proved. Mr Nordmeyer should have told us the exact position. As for getting attention for nothing—well, it cannot be done —I am, etc., H.E. June 8.
