TOBRUK FIGHTING
RUGBY, April lb.— Agency war correspondents, describing Monday's fighting ' around Tobruk, which resulted in 22 Axis aircraft being destroyed for the loss of four 11.A.1C machines, idl how all day long bombers, lighters. and dive-bombers cf the B.A.F. . swarmed over the German and Italian columns standing and manonivring in the Tobruk area, destroying vehicles with 'bombs and machine-gun fire. Meanwhile the land forces were busy rounding up prisoners, whose .morale, the correspondents state, was far from good. Many wore on the verge of collapse from fatigue, and the correspondents noted that the Germans had lost 1 their usual
arrogance, some being in tears—nothing unusual for- the Italians, but almost unknown among the
Nazis. Many vehicles coming from Tripoli were disable;! or destroyed, 'and tiie desert tracks are already studded with all 'kinds of military vehicles overturned by bombs or shells.
