Daily Intercession

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.—(Romans xii.: 1.) F.iernal God, we thank Thee for the countless deeds of heroism and self-sacrifice whereby our civilisation and culture have been icon and maintained for us. Gratefully we acknowledge that we belong not to ourselves alone; we have been bought by the blood of others. Accept then the service of our lives, consecrated to the preservation of high ideals and noble aspirations, that the world of to-morrow may have cause to praise Thee because we lived not selfishly nor in vain.
