CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING OTAGO AND SOUTH ISLAND TITLES Good weather conditions prevailed on Saturday, when the Otago clay bird championship and the South Island sheet championship were decided on the Dunedin Gun Club’s grounds at Green Island. There was a good muster of shooters, there being 30 entries for the Otago championship and 18 for the South Island sheet championship. In the Otago championship match (25 birds off 18yds) the present title-holder, E. P. Graham (Abbotsford), successfully defended his title, breaking 2$ targets. He was closely followed by W. Elliott (Balclutha), with 23 breahs. Other good scores were: — D. Campbell (Balclutha) 22, D. C. Leith (Lauder), L. P. Hayes (Oturehua), G. E. Turner (Dunedin), and T. Leith (Lauder) 21, C. Wilson (Tawanui), R. M'Donald (Dunedin), H. W. Broohes (Outran!), J. Bienvenu (Island Block), W. Sutherland (Palmerston), J. R. Roy (Moonlight), and R. Bruce (Brighton) 20. First and second money in the sweepstake was divided by T. Blackler and E. Broad (Invercargill), who both scored possibles. R. A. Burgess (Ellesmere) was also in the money with 23 breaks.
