WOMEN’S BOWLING

FOURS TOURNAMENT OPENING DAY'S PLAY Under blustery conditions the Otago Association commenced its annual fours tournament at Logan Park yesterday. Three rounds were played, and, despite the conditions, some fine scoring resulted. The greens were in good order.. Arrangements for the tournament were in the hands of the secretary of the 0.L.8.A. (Mrs H. Stubbs), and the umpire was Mr W. J. Gladding. Nearly 150 players are participating, including two fours from Christchurch, and fours from Roxburgh and Miller’s Flat. Fours which have won all games so far are those skipped by Miss Gray (Northeast Valley), Mrs Whale (Mornington), Mrs Gregory (Dunedin), on No. 1 green, and by Mrs Stubbs (Caversham) on the Logan Park green. Two rounds were to be played to-day, wnd these will be followed by post-sec-tion play. No section ties will be played, and should two or more fours have an equal number of wins in any section, these winning fours will take part in the draw for post-section play.
