COLIN TAPLEY ILL
RECOVERING FROM MAJOR OPERATION DEPARTURE FOR HOLLYWOOD DELAYED Though he underwent a serious major operation on Tuesday night, the condition of. Mr Colin Tapley, who recently returned from Hollywood to spend k holiday with his brother, is at present quite satisfactory. He is making quite fair progress, although it is expected to be about two months before he will be well enough to leave for Hollywood once more. It will be some time before Mr Tapley is well again,. but there were no cdmplications after the operation, and he will remain in a private hospital to recuperate from the effects of the operation. He was to leave New Zealand on February 6 on his return to the film capital, where he had been engaged to start shortly in an important part in a new production. This will have to bo cancelled by cable, unfortunately, but as Mr Tapley is-not under contract, .but is a “free-lance” actor, his position will not be seriously affected, apart from his lost engagement at present, as far as films are concerned. In two months it is expected that he will be fully capable of looking forward to resuming his career again. .
