Grainger, Don . Paterson, F. Paape, S. Brown, C. B. Brown, and E. C. Isaacs (hon. secretary)-. The Match Committee reported on the arrangements it had made for forthcoming contests, and stated that owing to illness in his family Neville Mttdgway was unable to come south-to meet Stan. Jenkin on Monday night, and Clarrie Marshall (who beat Cyril Pluto at Auckland last night) had now been matched over 12 rounds with Jenkin. In support Lex Greanev (Dunedin) had been matched with “Tiger ” Mitchell , (Christchurch) in a 10-round professional contest, and a four-round amateur bout had been arranged between Neil Leckie (Dunedin) and B.' Newton (Oamaru). Arrangements had' been- completed for the professional : match on May, 30 between ‘‘ Tiger ’’ Parks and Stan. Jenkin. , The Match report was approved. . Officials for Monday night’s tournament ‘were appointed as follows —M.C., Mr R.. S.- Gfendining; referee, main bout,, Mr J. Kilmartin; referee, professional and amateur preliminaries, Mr R. Fulcher; judges of amateur bout, Messrs W. D. Wilson and R. M. Morris; - glove stewards, Messrs J. Finnerty and W. Mowat; call stewards, Messrs.C. E. Brown and A. M. Grainger; stage managers, Messrs, W. D. Wilson and T. F. Mackie; timekeepers —Messrs T. Long, S. Brown, and W. D. . Allan; front of , house—Messrs J. R. Glover, W. Stiglish, and W. D. Allan. ~ , ~ , • It was resolved to hold an open ano novice amateur tournament about the middle of June, the fixing of the date being left in. the hands of the Match Committee. Mr .J. R. J. Moore, secretary of the University Boxing Club, advised that iti had''been decided to-run two University tournaments this year—a novice, tournament on Monday, July 18, and the interfaculty tournament on Monday, August I—and the association’s permission was sought for the staging of these tournaments, this being granted. The hon. secretary of the Dunedin Training College Boxing Club (Mr; J. G. Johnston) applied for permission to hold a trv-out tournament at Marama Hall on iday 31.—The application was granted, and the appointment of officials , was, held over until the next meeting. The Secretary of the Balclutha Amateur Swimming Club’s Queen Carnival Committee wrote asking for the association’s assistance in arranging a boxing tournament and stating that the co-operation of the Kaitangata Club was also being sought.
