PIGEON FLYING

The concluding race on the young bird programme of the Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club was flown from Tiraaru last Saturday under ideal flying conditions. Ninety-six birds from 17 lofts were entered for this race, and were liberated by the stationmaster at 11 o’clock. A very fast time was put up, the winning bird completing the distance in Ih 57rain. ■ The first five places were filled as follows (velocities given in yards per minute): — .1. J.
