WARNING TO BATHERS.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir,—ln reference to your paragraph in Tuesday’s issue under the above heading, I wish to point out that visitors to Lake Waihola do not make themselves familiar .with the bathing spots. I. also emphasise the fact that out of over 3,000 picnickers this season, only two accidents have occurred, and these through the folly of not enquiring. I would hardly call the two cases treated by the Milton doctors severe. One required three stitchesi and the other two, and one was caused through the boy’s diving where there was not sufficient water to dive. This season there have been dozens of bathers daily, and not one accident has occurred, simply because bathers have made themselves familiar with the best spot, namely, that section extending from the ladies’ dressing shed to the jetty. We people of Waihola are pleased to advise visitors, _ hence the paragraph in your columns is somewhat misleading.—l am, etc., F. J. McCarthy. February 24. Waihola.
