NEW ZEALAND TENNIS
TOUR DF STEDMAN AND COOMBE EXHIBITION MATCHES [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, November 12. A. C. Stedman, who has been in England for the past four years, will arrive at Wellington on December 4. The New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association’s Management Committee has drawn up an itinerary for a New Zealand‘tour for him and D. C, Coombe and (or) other leading players who may be available to play exhibition matches.
The itinerary is:—Play at Whangarei, December *18; Hamilton, December 27; Christchurch, January 1; Dunedin, January 3; Invercargill, January 5; Timarn, January 8; Wellington, January 15; Palmerston North, January 19; Wanganui, January 22; Napier, January 26; New Zealand championships, at Auckland, January 31 to February 5.
In addition, Stodman will be asked to play two exhibition matches in Auckland sub-districts, these to ho nominated by the Auckland Association If it can bo arranged he will also be asked to give a demonstration to juniors attending the junior championships at Christchurch. The terms of the exhibition matches are that the New Zealand Association will pay the travelling expenses of Steelman and another player, plus 10s a day allowance to each player while away' from home. Local associations are to billet the visiting players and pay the New Zealand Association onethird of the gross receipts, less tax. All expenses, other than travelling and allowance, are to be a charge against the local association. The Wellington Association has agreed to the terms as far as they affect it.
