OBITUARY
REV. W. TROTTER .The death occurred yesterday at the age of 73 years of the Rev, 'William Trotter, a well-known minister of the Presbyterian Church, at his residence at St. Leonards. Born at Jedburgh, Scotland, Mr Trotter was educated at the Free Church College, Glasgow, and in 1897 was ordained to the charge of the Free Church, Bannockburn, Coming to_ New Zealand in 1907, he became the minister of the Epsom Presbyterian Church at Auckland, where he remained for a period of three or four years. He then went to Greymouth, and came to Dunedin near the end of the year 1915. On March 2, 1916, be was inducted into the charge of the Mornington Presbyterian Church, retiring after 14 years of continuous service as minister ot this church. Mr Trotter was a member of the executive of the: Theological Hall Committee, under the convenership of the Ref E J. Tipler, and he succeeded Dr A. Cameron as convener of the Dunedin Presbyterian Social Service Association, a position he held until failing health compelled him to retire. A man of much natural ability and sound judgment, he took a deep interest in the work of the Dunedin Presbytery. Deceased is survived by his widow, one son, and three daughters.
