Mr F. S. Arthur, who has been appointed New Zealand representative _on tho International Secretariat for Wool Publicity and Research in London, left} by the express to-day for Auckland, where he will join the Arawa en route, to England. Mr B. H. Ay ling, of Invercargill* passed through Dunedin to-day to take up a position in New Plymouth.
Sir Charles Statham travelled by the express to-day on his way to ton.
Mr W. N. Satterthwaite left for Wellington to-day. Professor W. A. Sewell, professor o£ English at Auckland University College, is to leave this week on a trip to England. He has been granted nine months’ leave of absence. , 5
Mr J. B. Clarke, a prominent official of the British Broadcasting Corporation, who arrived at Auckland by the 1 Monterey, left for Rotorua on Saturday in company with Professor Jamea Shelley, Director of Broadcasting, on tho first stage of a tour of the Dominion. ~ Dr J. R. Cameron, a Pennsylvanian surgeon, arrived at- Auckland by the Monterey from Los Angeles to make a short visit to the Otago Medical School, whose research into tumours has attracted his attention. Dr Cameron i a an old boy of Wellington College, and. is now professor of oral surgery ab Temple University, Philadelphia. The Rev. K. Button, at present an assistant curate at Catford, a suburb of London, has accepted the post of assistant curate at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Parnell, Auckland, for a period of one year. He is to arrive early in November. Mr Button was educated at Wellington College, Victoria University College, and Cambridge University.
