NEW ZEALAND CANDIDATES SELECTED [Per United Press Association.! WELLINGTON, ‘ June 30. The Minister of Defence announce* that the following candidates have been selected for shorb-servico commissions in the Royal Air Force, and will sail- from New Zealand on August 13:—T. E. Bramelk (Blenheim), D. M. Brass (Wellington), F. N. Brindsden. (Auckland), B. Graham (Christchurch), K. N- Gray (Wanganui), L. G. W. Lilly (Dunedin), J. C. Martin (Christchurch), R. G. Maddox (Dunedin), W. Roberts (Auckland), T. N. Silk (Wanganui), I. D. S. Strachari (Wellington), and N. H. Svendsea (Pukekohe). The following have been . accepted for short-service commissions in the New Zealand Air Force, and will report at Wigram on September I: —W.: A. Brown (Auckland), L. ,J. Ransom (Bulls), J. p C. Simpson (Christchurch),J. E. Watts (New Plymouth). The following have been accepted for short-service commissions in the Royal Air Force, but undertake initial training in New Zealand, and will report at Wigram on September -I:—J. M. Dermody (Wellington), J. E. Edward* (Auckland), R. R- P. Fisher (Gore)* H. H. Haszard (To Aroha), -M. A, Poulton (Christchurch), D. A. Ran# kino (Hastings), L. H. Trent (Nel# son), and J. E. Vernon (Queens, town).
