HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, PORT CHALMERS
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of Holy Trinity Church was held in the Sunday school room on Monday evening, when the vicar (Rev. E. G. Wilson) presided over a large attendance ,of parishioners. In extending a welcome to those present the vicar especially welcomed Mr Hook, student-assistant to the district, who was representing the Warrington end of tho parish, and congratulated him on his recent success in gaining his M.A. degree with honours. The treasurer’s report and the balance sheet showed that, in spite of abnormally heavy expenditure in erecting a garage and in repairs, the overdraft had not been materially increased, indicating that parishioners had during the year supported tho church financially in a most encouraging inanner. The vestry 'report indicated that the affairs of the church had progressed satisfactorily duringthe year, and that the church organisations were in a very healthy state. The Vicar, in his address to his parishioners, stressed the excellent work being dope for the church by the various organisations connected with it. The church-was very fortunate in_having a band of enthusiastic and willing workers, and h© specially commended the efforts of the Ladies’ Guild, which had contributed so materially to the finances of the vestry during the year. The Mothers’ Union, too, had had a most successful and encouraging _ year, and occupied an important place in the spiritual life of the church. He touched also on the work of each of the other organisations, and thanked all who had helped for their services. Mr Laley endorsed the vicar’s remarks on behalf of the vestry Mr Forsyth (people’s warden), on behalf of the parishioners, thanked the vicar and Mrs Wilson for their enthusiastic and untiring work in the parish during the year. The church had progressed due to their efforts. The election of officers resulted:— Vicar’s warden, Mr F. H. Hudson; people’s warden, Mr D. Forsvth; vestry members—Messrs Reeves. Blackman, Laley. Peryer, Jenks, Captains Page and Mackenzie, Mesdames Wilkin and Brown, and Miss Davis; lion, auditor. Mr G. Wilkin. At the' conclusion of the business items were contributed by Mrs Brown, Miss M'Dowell, and the M.U. Ohofr. Supper was dispensed by the ladies*
