MODEL ENGINEERING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING Mr L. Boyce presided over a wellattended meeting oj: the Model Engineering Club, about 40 members being present. The annual report and balance sheet showed a year of remarkable progress. The society was formed in May, 193 G, and the first year closed with a membership of 38 and a highly satisfactory credit balance. The report showed that a number of material benefits accrued to membership, but of even greater importance was the contact and fellowship with other model-makers. Friendly rivalry was becoming evident, and this would be of benefit to the individual members and thus benefit the club, whose continued success relied on the active and enthusiastic support of every member. Thanks were due to Mr Douglas Mollison, who gave the “O ” gauge track. It was unfortunate! that Mr Mollison had been transferred to Auckland. Members and friends who had helped during the year wore too numerous to mention individually, but their efforts had materially assisted the society and were much appreciated. Special mention was made of the generosity of Messrs Johnson Bros., who had given the room for meetings free of charge. The social side had not been A very successful “smoko” last November, and an even more successful birthday party had been held, while a day’s outing "was now in view. Lectures had enhanced the interest of the monthly meetings, and members appreciated the help given by those who assisted in this way. . „ , The following office-bearers were elected Chairman, Mr W.
