PASSENGERS’ WEARY WAIT
LIMITED EXPRESS DELAYED DERAILMENT OF SOUTH BOUHD TRAIN [Pen United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, June 24. Delayed by the derailment, of a south bound train at Mataroa, near Taihape, the Limited express was 2h 28min late in arriving from Wellington this morning, reaching Auckland at 11.58 a.m. The train waited at Taihape for two and a-half hours after midnight,‘while the rails were cleared. Passengers state that they had a weary wait, most of them snatching whatever sleep was possible.
