POLICE COURT
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. William Lee, alias George Reid, was fined 12s fid, m default 24 hours’ imprisonment. STRUGGLE WITH CONSTABLE. “ I don’t remember much about it,” said James Pullar (65) when he was charged with drunkenness and with damaging a police mackintosh to the value of £2 12s fid. Sergeant Austen _ told the court that Pullar created a disturbance in a fruit shop in George street last night, and after being ejected was arrested for drunkenness. He struggled with a constable in the taxi taking them to the police station, and became very violent when they arrived, the constable’s , overcoat being torn to such an extent that it was practically useless. Pullar was fined 10s, or 24 hours for drunkenness, and was ordered to make good the damage to the coat, in default seven days’ imprisonment.
