A four-hour conference between Dr Scbuschhigg and Signor Mussolini was adjourned until the morning. Dr Sohuschnigg indicated that Austria had no intention of joining any European group, but was steering equally clear of an Italo-German alliance or a counter-alliance against Italy and Germany. Austria was determined to live on good terms with Italy, Germany, and Yugoslavia. It is generally agreed that recent misunderstandings, including the football disturbance, have been overlooked and Italian-Austrian friendship restored. PERFECT IDENTITY OF VIEWS VENICE, April 23. (Received April 24, at 11 a.m.) An official communique says that Signor Mussolini and Dr Sohuschnigg noted with satisfaction their perfect identity of views, and confirmed the principles on which their friendly relations were based. They are sure that collaboration will create systematisation of the Danube Valley, but Germany’s co-operation will be essential in the matter
