Poland’s 3,500,000 Jews are virtually banned from public life hy an official decree’ forbidding them to joip the new totalitarian Government party, the only party permitted in Poland. Prominent Jews declare that the ban means that for ' the first time in . Polish history Jews have been officially branded as racially inferior, even those who have fought for Polish independence. Jews must, therefore, unite in self-defence.
Many thousands of Jews had applied for membership in the new party.
