NEW ZEALAND-MADE WEEK
1937 WINDOW DISPLAYS Arrangements are already well in hand for this year’s New Zealand-made Week, which opens on Tuesday, May 25. A number of moving displays will be given in the windows of local retailers. Last year this proved beyond doubt its value in “telling and selling” the buying public of the advantages of giving preference to merchandise made in this country. The Department _of Industries and Commerce is interesting itself in the effort. The newspapers will issue special supplements, and manufacturers are taking more than the usual interest in co-operating with retailers in the matter ’of arranging for the display of merchandise. It is anticipated that the City Council will illuminate the main streets during the week. Factories are planning to allow the public, including the school children, to make a visit to their premises.
