ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FATAL INJURIES, A Whangarei Association message states that William Heather (50), who was critically injured when his truck was struck by a train at a level crossing on Friday, died in hospital yesterday without regaining consciousness. COLLISION ON SADDLE HILL. A collision occurred on Saddle Hill about 6.30 p.m. on Saturday between a car driven toward Mosgiel by Mrs Auld, of 24 Royal Terrace and a White Star taxi being driven toward the city by Thomas Adams. Both cars were damaged and two passengers in one were removed to the Hospital, but they were later able to return to their homes. COLLAPSED IN STREET. John Golden, 69 years of age, living at ' 104 Arthur street, collapsed and died in High streets shortly before 7 o’clock last evening. An inquest will not be necessary. FOUND DEAD. Thomas Ling (45), married, with six children, was found dead with his throat cut, on the roadside on the La Fontaine road extension works at Hari Hath—Hokitika Press Association.
